WHAT IS THE INDIANA ACADEMY OF OPHTHALMOLOGY?

Mission: The Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology EyeMDs promotes the highest quality, comprehensive vision, medical, and surgical eye care.

Vision: Provide professional advocacy, education, and value-added business services to our members.

How We Accomplish Our Mission and Vision:

  • Bring together the physicians of Indiana who principally limit their practices to ophthalmology to the end that harmony and scientific advancement may be promoted.
  • Enlighten the public and doctors of medicine or osteopathy in matters pertaining to ophthalmology.
  • Encourage and provide for the continuing education of practitioners of ophthalmology.
  • Cultivate and maintain high standards of professional excellence and high ethical standards, in the practice of ophthalmology.
  • Act as the official voice of ophthalmology in Indiana.
  • Encourage and provide for better patient care in Indiana in ophthalmology.
  • Engage in other activities in furtherance of the common professional interests of ophthalmologists.
The Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology (IAO) is a state-wide, non-profit organization for member ophthalmologists.
